If you get a message asking you to verify personal information, it didn't come from us!

We'll never send you a letter or e-mail asking for your account numbers, usernames, passwords, or Social Security number. If you get a message like that--called phishing--don't bite!

Be suspicious of any email with urgent requests for personal financial information. Don't use links in an email to get to any web page if you suspect the message might not be authentic. Avoid filling out forms in email messages that ask for personal financial information; and regularly check your debit and credit card statements to ensure that all transactions are legitimate and accurate.

Angelina Federal Employees Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. You can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing your identity or revealing information about yourself. However, if you visit a secure site, such as online banking, you will be asked for personal information that will give you access to the member only section of our website. This information enables AFECU to regulate entry to the member only portions of our website and to measure member usage. Any identifying information gathered is not sold to third parties.

If you send an e-mail, AFECU collects and stores personally-identifying information in order to process your e-mail, form or application. This information is not sold to any third parties. Due to the volume of e-mail activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered or completed.

If you link to another site from any of our pages, you are leaving our site pages, and we cannot be held responsible for any information that may be gathered at a linked site. We make every effort however, to ensure that all linked sites follow similar privacy policies as ours to offer you maximum security and privacy.

Third party websites are not operated by AFECU. The credit union does not represent either the third party or the member if the two enter into a transaction. Privacy and security policies may differ from those practiced by AFECU.

Identity Theft
Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in the United States. Armed with something as simple as a social securty number or a date of birth, a criminal can make a living opening credit cards, applying for jobs, and renting apartments in the names of innocent consumers. The consumer won't even know their identity has been stolen until hundreds or thousands of dollars in debt is racked up in their name.

If you think that your identity has been compromised, print and complete a Sworn Statement of Identity Theft form (on our home page) and return it to your financial institution with a copy of the police report or the case number from the police department of the reported offense under Section 32.51, Penal Code.
